I just wanted to add a couple more maps show the progress of the area over time (approximately 150 years).
This is a 1851 map of the area showing the general location of our site.
A map from 1954. This illustrates a grid pattern for streets, but notice the absense of the turnpike.
By 2003 the turnpike has been constructed and land development has increased significantly.

Nice addition. This information would be even more interesting if the general block street pattern were traced in different colors and all were seen overlaid together.
I was also looking at some of the older maps. It is interesting to see how the turnpike really separated our site from the back bay. The 1934 one I posted on my blog. It shows the typical brick buildings on site that mirror what is typical of the neighborhood. I think the building in the corner is what is left of those.
